Sorting in groups

Today we talked about sorting into different categories!  I gave each table 8-9 picture/word cards and had them come up with ways to sort them!  Check out some of Our Favorites!

Big and small things:

Living and nonliving:

Water items, land items, people items:

By colors:

Things that breathe, things that hold

Something and things that grow:

By first letter:

Sorting is a great reading strategy!  If they can find similar parts of words, tricky words become way easier!
